Edith M. Tackett
Edith M. Tackett died on Jan. 30, 2013. She was 82 years young. She married Harvey Tackett and remained in Chelan until relocating to Seattle in 1964. Edith was employed by Sears, Roebuck and Co. and then Boeing until her retirement in 1991. After retiring, she and Nelson relocated to Mansfield.
Edith was very active in the United Protestant Church and the Mansfield community. Some of her favorite activities were taking tickets at Mansfield High School functions, working with the Douglas County Sheriff's Auxiliary, being a member of the Washington State Grange, and supporting Mansfield Dollars for Scholars.
Edith is survived by two sons, two granddaughters, and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and one sister.
The family wishes to express special thanks to Central Washington Hospital, Colonial Vista Nursing Home, Central Washington Hospice, and Wenatchee Valley Clinic.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 2 at Precht Rose Chapel in Chelan. Interment followed at the Chelan Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Mansfield Ambulance Fund, Mansfield Dollars for Scholars or any Breast Cancer Fund.
Arrangements are in the care of Precht Rose Chapel.
