Boat Company wants to expand terminal

Jack Raines submitted a construction permit to the city of Chelan on behalf of the the Lake Chelan Boat Company asking to improve the terminal so it can handle increased freight for the Holden Mine cleanup project. City officials are taking public comments through Dec. 21.

The proposal includes improvements to provide for barge loading of supplies (composed of a compacted gravel surface), stormwater treatment and retention, fencing, and a temporary logistics office. The project includes construction of the city's Lakeside Trail along the property between 1418 and 1506 W. Woodin Ave.

Agencies, tribes, and the public can review and comment on the proposed project and its environmental impacts.

Comments must be submitted by Dec. 21 to: City of Chelan, Department of Planning & Community Development, P.O. Box 1669, Chelan, WA 98816

Raines, of Chelan, is represented by Ryan Walker of Grette Associates, LLC.

City officials reviewed the proposed project for adverse environmental impacts and expects to issue a determination of non-significance.

This may be your only opportunity to comment on the
environmental impacts on this phase of the proposed project. A copy of the threshold determination may be
obtained upon request.

Agencies, tribes, and the public are encouraged to review and comment on the proposed project and its probable
environmental impacts. Comments must be submitted by December 21, 2012 to:

Any person has the right to comment on this application, receive notice of and participate in any hearings, request a copy of the decision once made, and appeal rights. Please address only specific and factual comments to the project.

The project application may be reviewed at City Hall, Department of Planning & Community Development, 135 E. Johnson Avenue, Chelan WA during regular business hours.

The following conditions have been identified that may be used to mitigate the adverse environmental impacts of the
proposal: Compliance with all regulatory agency permit requirements.
