Manson Farmer’s Market

MANSON - The Farmer’s Market in Manson opens at 8:30 a.m. when the bell rings on Wednesday and Saturday mornings, at the Manson Grange, 157 Wapato Way and runs until 11:30 a.m.  Local farmers, growers, crafters and artisans bring fresh picked produce and handcrafted items. Sellouts are common so come early for the best selection, some vendors may linger longer, but many vendors sellout and leave early.  Come for a day for just $5, or the season for $50. Thursday Evening Farmers Market

CHELAN -  Thursday Evening Farmers market is open 4-7 p.m. every Thursday, on the corner of S. Emerson and Wapato Streets, between the Riverwalk Inn and Riverwalk Park. Sept. 20

Story time Manson / Chelan Libraries

MANSON - Every Wednesday at 11 a.m. the Manson Community Library offers a story time for children ages 2 to 5 and their caregivers.  Join the group for a half hour of stories, rhymes, songs, finger plays and other activities.  For more information call the library at 687-3420.

CHELAN - Story time is every Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Chelan Public Library located on Emerson Street. Join them for singing, dancing, clapping, music making as well as reading. It’s both fun and educational!

Cascadia Conservation District to meet

WENATCHEE - Cascadia Conservation District’s regular monthly meeting will be on Thursday, Sept. 21, 3:30 p.m., in the Upstairs Conference Room at the Wenatchee World Building, 14 N Mission St., Wenatchee.  For more information, call the District at (509) 436-1601.

Celebrate Recovery

CHELAN - Lake Chelan Celebrate Recovery Meets every Thursday at Living Stone Church, (formerly Little Stone Church), 2133 W. Woodin Avenue. Dinner is at 6 p.m., cost is $3. Group meeting at 6:30 p.m., followed by gender-specific small groups. Celebrate Recovery is a confidential, Biblically-based twelve step program for anyone struggling with addiction, co-dependency, gambling, relationships and other life issues.

CHELAN - The Lake Chelan United Methodist Church Community ‘Soup’ Kitchen is open every Friday, noon to 1:30 p.m. The church is located at the corner of Johnson and Emerson.

Baby rhymin’ time

CHELAN - Baby rhymin’ time is every Friday at 10 a.m., at the Chelan Pubic Library on Emerson Street, for ages 0-3 years. Join them for singing, dancing, nursery rhymes, musical instruments, and story telling for babies, waddlers and toddlers.

HDCA Sip & Stroll

CHELAN - The Historic Downtown Chelan Association (HDCA) will host their 5th annual Sip & Stroll in downtown Chelan on Sept. 23, 3 p.m.-6 p.m. This year, the event will host nine local wineries, a local brewery and a local cider house.  Tickets cost $35 and include a souvenir wine glass and are available for purchase under Chelan events on Brownpapertickets.com or by calling HDCA at (509) 682-4322.

Potluck dinner

CHELAN - Berean Baptist Church has a potluck dinner after the morning service on the last Sunday of every month. The church is located at 515.  E. Woodin Ave. There will be no evening service on the Sunday.

CHELAN - Al-Anon meets every Tuesday, 12 p.m. in the Apple Cup Cafe Banquet Room. This is an open meeting.

MANSON - The Manson Community Council will be Tuesday, Sept. 26, 6 p.m. at the Manson Park Office on Pedoi Street. All are welcome to attend.

Cancer Support Groups

CHELAN - Second Meeting Added: The Women’s Wellness Group, cancer support group, now has 2 support groups, the second Tuesday of each month for lunch, with lunch provided by the Wenatchee Wellness Place, at the Lake Chelan Community Hospital Board Room at 11:45 a.m. and the fourth Wednesday of each month at LaBrisa at 5 p.m.  For more information, contact Anne at 682-8718.

CHELAN - The Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours is resuming after a busy summer season and Frenchie’s Flutes & Fleur’s will be the host on Thursday, Sept. 28, 6-8 p.m. Come welcome them to the valley and mingle with fellow members. CHELAN - The next meeting of the North Cascades Sportsman Club board will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 4. Board meetings are held the first Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. Meetings take place at the Chelan PUD located at 1034 E. Woodin Ave. in Chelan.

CHELAN - Bilingual story time is the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m.at the Chelan Library. A fun half hour of stories in Spanish and English for families. The Chelan Library is located at the corner of Emerson and Chelan. For information 682-5131.

EAST WENATCHEE - The 2017 meeting schedule for the Columbia River Council of Governments, governing body of Aging and Adult Care of Central Washington, scheduled to meet at 50 Simon Street S.E.: Oct. 5; Nov. 2; and Dec.7.   All meetings begin at 1:30 p.m. Grant County Commissioner Cindy Carter is chair of the council, composed of one county commissioner from Adams, Chelan, Douglas, Grant, Lincoln, and Okanogan Counties. Library Book Sale

CHELAN - The Chelan Friends of the Public Library will hold their annual Book Sale on Saturday, Oct. 7, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Chelan Public Library, located at 218 N. Emerson Street. Prices will  be $2.00 - Hardbacks; $2.00 - Trade Paperbacks; $1.00 - Paperbacks; $0.50 - Kids books; $2.00 - DVD’s; $0.50 - VHS videos; $2.00 - Audiobooks; $1.00 - Music CD’s; and $2.00 Fill-A-Bag Sale from 2-4 p.m. Those wishing to donate may take their donations to the library.

CHELAN - Chelan Friends of the Public Library will have their monthly member meeting Monday, Oct. 9, (always the second Monday of each month) at 7 p.m., in the Chelan Public Library meeting room, 218 N. Emerson Street. Any and all interested persons are welcome.

MANSON - The Chelan County Fire District 5 Commissioners will hold their monthly meeting Tuesday, Oct. 10, at 4:30 p.m. at Station 51 located at 250 W. Manson Blvd. 

Heritage Heights board meeting

CHELAN - The Heritage Heights Assisted Living monthly board meeting will be held Oct. 10, (second Tuesday of every month), at 5 p.m. in the activity room at Heritage Heights.  Community members are welcome to attend.  The meeting lasts approximately one hour. CHELAN - Veterans.  Join the Chelan County Veteran’s Service Officer, WorkSource, and SSVF representatives for coffee and organizational information the second Thursday of the month (Sept. 14) in Chelan at the Apple Cup Café from 9 am until 12 p.m.   If you are a veteran or dependent and are seeking employment, homeless or at risk, want to request a DD214, or talk about potentially filing a VA Disability Claim, join them on these dates for more information.  For questions call Tony Sandoval at (509) 664-6801 or Bob Goedde at 682-2366.

CHELAN - The next Senior Living Initiative Steering Committee Meeting will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 5-6:30 p.m., in the PUD Conference Room.
