Dorothy K. Greenway
Dorothy K. Greenway, 65, a long-time resident of Chelan died Monday, August 27, 2012, at Three Rivers Hospital in Brewster following numerous health problems. She was born July 1, 1947, at Seattle and was the daughter of W.C. 'Bill' and Grace (Porter) Peebles. She attended schools at Chelan and was graduated in 1966. She had also served as Chelan Rodeo Princess in 1964. She was married to Jerry Greenway in 1973.
Over the years she was a nurse's aid at Regency Manor, was also employed with Trout, Inc., and was a waitress. For a time she was employed with the local home health operation. Since 1992, she has been disabled.
Dorothy has attended Chelan United Methodist Church and had been a member of Silver Star Chapter 93, O.E.S.; had been a past member of Chelan Eagles, the Wenatchee Kennel Club.
She enjoyed horses and dogs and had numerous American Champion Shih-Tzu's. As she was physically able she took the responsibility for opening two meetings per week for the Chelan-Manson AA. She had celebrated seventeen years of sobriety prior to her death.
Survivors include a son, Jeremy Greenway, of Chelan. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A tribute service will take place Friday, Sept. 7, at 2 p.m. at Chelan United Methodist Church with Pastor Lilia Felicitas-Malana officiating. Private Interment will be at Fraternal Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society. Services have been entrusted to Precht Rose Chapel, Chelan.
