Lowell Frantz Pittman was born on Nov. 1, 1931 in Manson Washington to Don and Georgia Pittman. He was the tenth child of 12 children, 6 brothers and 5 sisters.
He went home to be with the Lord on Nov. 21, 2012, just 20 days after his 81st birthday, in his own home, surrounded by his family.
Lowell attended school in Manson and graduated with the class of 1950. A few months later he enlisted in the United States Army and served most of his military years in Germany as an Army staff car driver and playing football on an Army football team. His love of football lasted a lifetime.
After returning home from his military service, he met "the girl down the road", Arita Faubion, and they were married in August of 1954. To them were born 4 children, Lisa, Craig, Bret, and Todd. These children were the light of his life. He was a faithful husband and friend, and loved his home and family above all else.
Most of Lowell's life was spent in the orchard business. He and his brother Harold started Pittman Brothers Orchards in 1969 and continued in business for over 35 years.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Arita Pittman; daughter Lisa Larson; sons Craig, Bret, and Todd Pittman; brothers Harold and Kendall Pittman; sisters Janet Moon and Evelyn Pierce; 8 grandchildren - Jesse, Kyle and Lacey Larson, Whitney, Jordan and Travis Pittman, Mikey and Anna Pittman; many nieces and nephews and numerous honorary and adopted family members collected throughout the years, in particular Rob, Loretta, Nathan and Melissa Williams.
Lowell was preceded in death by his parents Don and Georgia Pittman, brothers Donald, Robert, George, and Clair, and sisters Florence, Betty and Ethel.
