Deputies seeking Peeping Tom
A string of three Rivercom calls has Chelan County Sheriff's deputies on alert for a potential Peeping Tom in the Manson area.
Chelan County Sheriff's Sgt. Rob Huddleston said a Manson resident on Wapato Way reported seeing a man in the street wearing a mask and acting suspiciously on Feb. 23. The reporting party said the man fled through the alley before deputies arrived.
At around 11:30 p.m., Feb. 27, another resident reported a Peeping Tom on Furey Ave., in Manson.
The second caller said a man was outside tapping on their window, Huddleston said. The resident said the man ran to a white Dodge pickup truck with a white canopy and escaped.
The alleged voyeur was described as a white male between 50 and 55 years old with salt and pepper hair and a beard or goatee. He was wearing a beige leather jacket and blue jeans and was alone, Huddleston said.
On Feb. 28, at about 3:10 p.m., a third caller contacted Rivercom. The caller heard something on the outside deck and assumed it was an animal, Huddleston said. A neighbor reported that he chased someone out of her yard after seeing someone looking in the window.
A series of other calls that may or may not be related to the Peeping Tom include three suspicious vehicle calls, and a Chelan burglary call where nothing was taken but the door was left open.
