Sunny but smoky skies dawned September 27 for the ladies' last day of competitive golf for 2012. Twenty plus gals set out to play "Par 3's Plus Five" (total of all the par 3's plus five other lowest scores). Div. 1 winner was Gail Bender followed by a tie for 2nd between Linda Hahn and Jacklyn Starr-Evans. Div. 2 winners were Carolyn Tobey in 1st followed by Bernie Langton in 2nd. Div. 3 winner was Mary Couchée. Note that the number of winners in the divisions is predicated upon how many are playing in that division on any single day.
The lone birdie of the day was holed by Carol Ferguson on #18. Carol also was credited with two chip-ins. Bernie Langton also sunk two chip-ins and Jane Storms and Mary Couchée each had one.
Social golf will begin October 4 at 9:00 AM after a short but important business meeting at 8:00 AM. Please be there if at all possible. An end-of-the year dinner and awards evening will be October 8 at 6:00 PM at the golf course. A Rally for the Cure golf tournament will be held October 14 at the Chelan Golf Course. This is a couple format but anyone interested in playing can do so by calling the Pro Shop (682-8026) to sign up. The fee is $20 for the tournament and green fees if one does not belong to the golf club. Many snowbirds have already flown away so we wish all of them a safe trip and a great and sunny winter.
