Northwest MedStar Cancels Brewster Base Community Open House
Funds for the Event to be Directed to Those Affected by Wildfires
The Northwest MedStar Brewster Base open house, planned for the community on Monday, July 28, is canceled in light of the destruction and loss to area residents caused by wildfires.
Northwest MedStar is distributing the catering planned for the event to local agencies. In addition, a donation is being made to the local American Red Cross Apple Valley Chapter.
"Our flight team is from this region and have friends and loved ones that experienced great loss," said Shawn Ottley, base coordinator for Northwest MedStar. "This is a small way to give back to those affected."
Northwest MedStar maintained critical care transport from its surrounding bases in Moses Lake and TriCities when the Brewster base was evacuated Thursday, July 17. The local base at Anderson Field Airport continues to work with local EMS agencies and area hospitals to ensure critical care transport is available 24/7 to those in need throughout the entire north central Washington region. ###
