Chelan Recreation & Community Center members and volunteers hosted the Soup Extravaganza Saturday at the Chelan High School commons. The first 30 people received a hand-made soup bowl from students at the Chelan High School pottery class. Everyone received a bowl of soup and the chance to learn more about the proposed rec center. For more information, check the It wasn't the Last Supper but the girls above were getting ready to serve a soupy supper. They are, from left to right, Estefania Cisneros, Leslie Monje, Analisa Diaz, Erika Arias, Yarely Sales, Yaneli Vargas and Mayra Avila. "A lot of people from the community will be going to there," Vargas said. "It will have a lot more facilities than the Community Gym." Diaz said the girls were earning community service hours towards their graduation requirements.
