What I would tell America's Founding Fathers
By Ebelia Gutierrez
Chelan Middle School
Dear Founding Fathers,
Thank you for all the great things you did like the Declaration of Independence.
Life in the United States has changed since you guys were alive. Now we are free to do what we want, there is electricity, kids now go to school and college to get better jobs than working in fields.
Now there have been 43 different presidents in the United States.
Some have made history, like Barack Obama is the first African American to be president.
However, there still hasn't been a woman president.
Oh, the White House has been rebuilt and it is located in Washington, D.C.
Now these days, we can go visit your guy's houses, they are museums. Also lots of president's faces are on dollar bills.
Now in Washington State there are a lot of people. I'm going to tell you about my life and family.
My sisters and I are able to go to public school. My parents moved to the United States for a better life and job. Also the economy now is very bad because people are losing their jobs and grocery prices are getting higher.
Dressing has changed for men. They don't wear wigs, long jackets, and ruffle shirts with ruffle sleeves or black buckled shoes.
Thank you; you guys made history.
Also did you know that they carved a rock mountain of George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt and Thomas Jefferson? It's called Mount Rushmore.
Also now these days kids learn about all the great things our Founding Fathers did. All of the hard work you did to decide how our country was going to run paid off because now 200 years later it is still running like that.
And Once more thank you very much for all these great things you did for billions of people, even though you didn't know.
