Those who attended Little Stone Church's Candlelight service were pleasantly surprised by the changes made to this year's Christmas Eve service.

Advertised as having "traditional Christmas spirit," the service opened up not in the chapel as usual, but in the lobby area of the church. Greeting it's visitors was a warm and cozy albeit fake fireplace with a rocking chair and small lit-up Christmas trees.

The gathering itself was much more relaxed and casual than Candlelight services in years prior; Kids were encouraged to enjoy the blankets laid out for them in the front row, and many even came in their pajamas.

Retired-pastor Gordon Hyde played some music to accompany the carols sung by those attending, and a table had been set up in the back for families to partake in communion during the singing. Afterwords treats were served and everyone had a chance to mingle and wish each other a Merry Christmas.

The Candlelight service this year may not have kept up with the traditions set up by earlier Christmas Eve services, but the friendly atmosphere and homely decor certainly felt traditional.
