Chelan hospital's Eggers
named Employee of the Quarter
Lake Chelan Community Hospital
Tim Eggers, plant engineer, was recently recognized as employee of the quarter at Lake Chelan Community Hospital.
For the past eight years, Eggers has been a member of a five-person team responsible for maintaining the 33,000 square foot hospital building, including the electrical and heating / cooling systems. Keeping the aging facility, built in 1972, up to code is a constant challenge, explained soft-spoken Eggers.
Being open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for more than 40 years takes a toll on a building, especially one with so many technological demands.
"But I enjoy the satisfaction of troubleshooting and finding a solution to a problem," said Eggers.
It's not uncommon to see the long, lanky engineer high on ladders, half hidden in the building's ceiling space, as he routes wiring for the hospital's electronic information technology system. Other days he focuses on maintaining the facility's chiller, which can freeze 80 tons of ice in 24 hours. "I know every room in the building," he says, "and the job never gets monotonous. There is always something new to do."
"Tim quietly goes about his job while performing at a very high standard," read his employee of the quarter nomination. "He always does his best to fix, check and or update equipment. Tim has a strong work ethic. I feel that I can call on Tim in a heartbeat to come and take care of any issues we have and he completes the tasks with a smile. He never asks what's in it for me. Tim's dedication to the job is admirable. His attention to detail is outstanding. We would not be the same place without Tim and he should be acknowledged for his commitment to doing his best at LCCH."
Eggers and the rest of his team are also responsible for the hospital's business office, home health office, located in downtown Chelan, and Wenatchee specialty clinic.
