Owen Bachelor, 8, of Manson rings in the new year with sparklers just outside of the North Shore Bible Church in Manson last Tuesday evening.
"2014 is your year."
That was the charge to a Manson congregation last Tuesday night as the locals said hello to a brand new year, and goodbye to the old.
Manson's Northshore Bible Church rang in the new year with a special New York celebration, where they celebrated the New Year three hours earlier, to better accommodate families with young children.
As part of the festivities, youth director Efren Alejo spoke to the congregation giving them challenges in the coming year.
"Let God and let go," he said.
"2014 is a year to let God take care of your problems, and for you to trust in Him."
The full house of young and old alike rang in the new year with performances from youngsters in the congregation, a bonfire, sparklers and a shout of, "Happy New Year!"
As children ran in the yard with sparklers and others warmed up by the fire; inside balloons were dropped and refreshments were served for all who attended.
