2014 Entiat Kite Fest a success

The 2014 Entiat Kite Festival drew nearly 200 folks to pilot their own kites last Saturday, March 29. Children were invited to make their own kites, with materials provided by the Entiat Valley Chamber of Commerce. For hours, locals and visitors enjoyed the spurts of wind that allowed for high flying kites. Above, children were invited to participate in the kite race. Each participant was awarded with a medal, "because you're all winners," Chamber rep, Hillary Homer said. At left, homemade kites are hung to dry. At right, 5-year-old Collin Cassidy makes his own kite, during a visit to his grandparents in Entiat. Cassidy came down to Entiat last weekend from Boise, Idaho.
