Holden Village a remote jewel of Chelan
In the basement of the Village Center at Holden Village is a bowling alley and pool hall, remnants from the 1930s.

As one's ears pop due to the steady rise in elevation along the more than 10-mile trip from Lucerne to Holden Village, the eyes are treated to the sight of many happy faces waving, looking happy and contented as they greet visitors upon arrival to the remote location. This is but one of the pleasant quirks of Holden Village. The entire village--or very nearly--greets visitors as they arrive by vehicle as a sort of custom of the place.

Lions names new leaders
The Lake Chelan Lions Club announced their new executive board officers. President-Mike Cushing, Vice President (VP)- Chuck Robinson, 2nd VP-Juli Straub, Treasurer- John Page, Secretary-Richard McKinnon, Board members- Roger Erickson and Ted Cummings.
The Lion of the Year award was given to Mike Cushing for his dedication to the club's growth in membership and service to Lake Chelan Valley. .

Lake Chelan Rotary installs 2014-15 officers, directors
The Lake Chelan Rotary Club installed its new officers at a dinner held at the Winemakers Grill in Manson. The event culminated another excellent year for the Lake Chelan Rotary Club who recently held the 11th anniversary Century Challenge and Cycle de Vine bike rides that exceeded all past years in registrations and in proceeds to support community and international projects. This year also was an ambitious year by completing remodeling of the new Chelan Valley Hope/Food Bank building, On August 16 the new year will again start with the annual Salmon Barbecue at Riverwalk Park as a part of the Fine Arts Festival.

Girls Night Out partners with Yogachelan
Girls Night Out at Lake Chelan Community Hospital has partnered with Yogachelan to offer a free Gentle Mix Yoga class Monday, Aug. 4 at 6 p.m. Enjoy restorative, somatic movement and relaxation at a free yoga class from Yogachelan. taught by Lynda Kennedy, RYT.

Lake Chelan Food Bank has New Director
The Advisory Board for Lake Chelan Food Bank approved Kyle Sparks to be its new Director on Wednesday, July 9. Sparks has been involved in mission and volunteer work much of his life. He began volunteering at the Lake Chelan Food Bank when it was housed next to St. Andrew's Church.
