CASHMERE -- The 44 Chelan FFA members who traveled to Cashmere to exhibit at the Chelan County Fair hoped to continue the build on the successes of the NCW Fair two weeks earlier, and that is just what they did.

Chelan FFA members had five market steers to enter in the show, and right off the bat they began the winning ways for their chapter with Lupe Villasenor winning the Grand Champion Rate of Gain Award with Loren Stocker placing as the reserve.

On Market Day, Leah Clark earned the Grand Champion Market Steer Blanket and Rosette with Loren Stocker showing the Reserve Champion Market Steer. Leah Clark went on to win the Grand Champion Beef Showman rosette and finish as the Reserve Champion in the FFA Round Robin. Michael LaHaye and Logan Fifer also made the finals in the Fitting and Showing. Loren Stocker earned the FFA Beef Supreme Showman Trophy.

In the Swine Barn, Apol Blanco made the final drive on Thursday finishing third in the Show and ending up the FFA Swine Supreme Showman Trophy. Amanda Stewart stood out on Show Day earning the Reserve Champion Swine Showman Rosette.

Also showing for Chelan were Shanna McGinty, Lupe Villasenor, Dane Schwartz, Ty Schwartz, Luke Gleasman, Ty Miller, Chad Miller, Drew Morris, Corey McClellan, Sean Hess, Lindsey Brownfield, Derek Ahl, Levi Greeway, Jake Straub, Sedyrra Copas, Bobby Hanson, and Kali Van Rensum.

In the Sheep Barn, Anna Doty earned the Grand Champion Ewe Rosette and Romaine Doty earned the Reserve Rosette. Josie Gallup earned the Novice Showman Rosette, and joined Amanda Reeves in the Showmanship Final.

In the Goat Barn, Sydney Gueller earned the Reserve Champion Pygmy Rosette and the Reserve Champion Goat Showman award. In the meat goat division, Chelan was well represented in both the Market Day and Show Day final drive, Bobby Hanson, Erick Straub, Jake Straub, Krista New, Billy Poppie, David Duenas, Rhiannon Davis, and Derion Martin all made the finals on one day or the other.

Bobby Hanson and Drew Morris both gathered up Rosettes in the Still life barn for vegetables, horticulture, and photography.

Jesus Rodriguez had the best tray of the Galas in the Commercial Tray exhibits earning a 1st place rosette. Jake Straub, Lupe Villasenor, and Corey McClellan also earned second- and third-place rosettes in the open horticulture building with apple trays.

In the CDE competition, the Chelan FFA shined earning the first-, second- and third-place poultry banners, second-place tractor banner, third-place horse banner, and third-place livestock banner

These finishes led to the Chapter earning the first place Sweepstakes banner. It was a very impressive fair season for the Chelan FFA; members earned 16 banners over 40 Grand or Reserve Rosettes and over 70 finals call back rosettes.
