• Coach/Team expectations for this season including teams to beat in league: We have a very talented and athletic group of girls that will be playing in an extremely competitive league. Cashmere, Brewster, Okanogan and Cascade all bring back very talented kids from teams that finished strong last year. Tonasket and Omak continue to get better every year. Quincy is new to the league.

• Coach's Comment: They are an extremely hardworking, close knit bunch of girls. They are gifted athletes, who have the ability to compete with any team on any given night. Biggest challenge will be playing in a league that could easily contain 3 or 4 of the top 10 class A teams in the state.

WRESTLING
Last year we won League, Districts, and placed 2nd in state as a team. We have 40 kids signed up to wrestle this year, which is the most we have ever had in the history of the program. I have 7 returning varsity wrestlers with state experience which means that I have high expectations for this season. We have a lot of leadership combined with youth this year, I'm excited for these leaders to pass the torch of knowledge and work ethic to the younger kids in the program.....ingredients to any successful program.

Returners with state experience include:

Sophomore, Ivan Reyes at 120 who made the trip to state last year as a freshman

Senior Erick Garcia at 132 who placed second in state last year

Sophomore, Juan Garcia at 145 who made the trip to state last year as a freshman

Junior, Bobby Anderson at 170 who has been a state alternate the last two years

Senior, Alex Cortez at 195 who is a two time state placer

Junior, Asa Schwartz who placed 3rd last year in state

Senior, Luis Garcia at Hwt. Who placed 3rd last year in state.

Jay McGuffin is the Head Wrestling coach. He is in his 7th year of coaching and is probably more excited about this year than any other he has coached. "We aren't the underdogs this year, therefore we will work harder than any team in the state, each and every day like it's the state title on the line".

Randy Gleasman is the assistant, he has been coaching wrestling for over 20 years

Randy McGuffin is the other assistant and he has been coaching for almost 40 years

Pat Chism is a volunteer coach that has been involved with the program for almost 10 years

Sean Gervais is a volunteer coach this year and helped out last year as well

Bob Anderson is a volunteer coach that has helped for almost 20 years

We have a lot of newcomers with great experience this year. They include Freshman Angel Hernandez, Brad Davison, Ty and Dane Schwartz, and Julian Buyas
