Despite a steady, chilly drizzle, more than 125 shooters competed Saturday Nov. 17) in the Annual North Cascades Sportsmans Club Turkey Shoot at the clubhouse on Washington Creek Road.
Club Board Member Dan Winship said the best shooting scores won a frozen turkey, ham or bacon. The shoot and coinciding barbecue raises money for the club's eight annual hunter education programs.
The club provides the programs for free, Winship said. The clubs hosts the Women On Target training and the Manson High School FFA Shooting Team. Entrants donate $5 for one five-shot round. There were four categories: Skeet, trap, quail and long-range.
