Chelan, Manson athletes to play in all-star games

Five area athletes will play in the annual Wenatchee Central Lions Club basketball games March 16 at Wenatchee High School.
Chelan High School's Erick Oscarson and Aaron Schramm will play for the Hooked on Toys team.
On the girls' side, Chelan's Hailey Habich and Emily Schramm will join Manson's Itzel Castro on the Wenatchee Valley Medical Center team.
A 3-point contest start around 6 p.m. with the girls game starting at 7 p.m. and the boys at 8:30 p.m. The presenting sponsor for the game is Valley Tractor & Equipment.

Dietrich selected to play in two all-star games
Courtney Dietrich will have a busy March. The 6-foot-1 Chelan High School senior will play in two state all-star games. The first is the volleyball match March 16 at Fife High School in Tacoma.
Dietrich was the Caribou Trail League volleyball Player of the Year in 2012.
The second all-star date is basketball March 25 at Seattle Christian High School.
Dietrich is a 4-year varsity starter in volleyball and basketball and helped lead the Chelan volleyball team to four consecutive 1A Caribou Trail League championships (2009-12), three straight district titles (2009-11) and a state championship in 2010. She also lettered in softball.
She was named the WIAA Athlete of the Week in basketball for week 25 when she scored 21 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field and 7-of-9 from the free throw line and added 14 rebounds in her team's first round victory over Columbia (Burbank), 64-35, at Central Valley High School.
She signed a letter of intent in November to attend Sacramento State University on a full-ride athletic scholarship.
Amsel to play in basketball all-state games
Chelan's Michael Amsel Jr. has been selected to play in this years Washington Interscholastic Basketball Coaches Association (W.I.B.C.A.) All-State games presented by Adidas and Cloud 9 Sports on Saturday, March 16th at Curtis High School in University Place, Washington.
The game will bring together the top boys basketball players from across the state for this showcase event. Past players in this annual game include Brandon Roy, Aaron Brooks, Luke Ridnour, Jason Terry and Nate Robinson, as well former CHS Mountain Goats: Jim Beeson, Jason Nickell, Phil Cullen, Michael Griffiths, Jon Mitchell, Calin Schell, Joe Harris and Mat Engstrom.
1B vs. 2B- 2:00 PM
1A vs. 2A- 4:00 PM
3A vs. 4A- 6:00 PM
Doors open at 1 pm. Cost is $10 per adult and $8 for Seniors, HS students, and children under12.
In addition to the games State Players of the Year, Coaches of the Year, and the State Mr. Basketball will be awarded.
