Chelan football tops Quincy in overtime

The Chelan Goats and Quincy Jacks couldn't settle things in regulation last Friday night.
And in overtime, Chelan quarterback Luke Gleasman threw a touchdown pass to Eli Jenkins to win the game 14-7 in Quincy.
"We knew it would be a battle and we finished well," Chelan coach Travis Domser said. "We are taking this season one game at a time and we needed that win. We gutted it out in overtime that shows we are getting better and our kids believe."
Chelan running back Konnar Stevens had a great game, carrying the ball 12 times for 146 yards. He scored the first points of the game, busting an 81-yard touchdown run in the third quarter to give Chelan a 7-0 lead.
Quincy was able to score in the fourth quarter, tying the game at seven and sending the game into overtime.
Chelan's Tanner Hendricks completed seven passes for 64 yards and Gleasman completed two passes for 35 yards to go along with one interception and a touchdown.
Chelan running back Kai Clausen ran the ball 14 times for 48 yards and Tanner Hendricks carried the ball seven times for 19 yards. Jenkins caught three passes for 44 yards and the winning touchdown. Stevens caught three passes for 25 yards.
The defense had a spectacular day. Asa Schwartz led the team in tackles with 24, followed by Konnar Stevens with 14 tackles, including three of those for a loss. Teammate Jared Anderson recorded three tackles, two of which were for a loss and both Eli Jenkins and Salvador Gonzalez tied in tackles with eight.
The defense also forced two turnovers. Gonzalez had an interception and Mykey Flowers forced a fumble which was recovered by Ryan Gerber.
Chelan is now 3-3 on the season and 2-2 in league play and currently sit tied for fourth place in the Caribou Trail League. Chelan will take on last place Omak on Friday at Sargent Field.
