Chelan's Pittsinger commits to UW track and field team
Chelan High School athlete Karle Pittsinger has announced that she has decided that she will attend the University of Washington, competing on the Husky Track and Field team next year.
"Karle has been recruited by a number of colleges, she thought this was the best for her, track tradition, I'm very happy for Karle, think she has worked hard to achieve this goal and she deserves it."
Pittsinger was recruited by many colleges but determined that the University of Washington offered the best educational opportunities and student-athlete experience of the schools that recruited her, according to a press release.
"It has been a dream of mine because I've been going to games since I was little," Pittsinger said. "It is really rewarding and it took a lot of hard work. I am excited."
She is a two-time CTL female field athlete of the year and finished first in the shot put and second in the discus at the 2013 state A championships. She was the co-captain for the Chelan High School track and field team and is the all-time record holder in Chelan track and field for the women's shot put and discus.
Pittsinger is also a letter winner on the Chelan volleyball team.
