Chelan defeats Tonasket, Cle Elum last week
Chelan Lady Goat's basketball had three games last week before the winter break.
Chelan started the week off at home against Cascade, dropping the contest 45-34.
Cascade started off strong, opening the first quarter with 12 points and shutting out Chelan in the first quarter. Chelan was able to bounce back from the first and outscored the Kodiaks in the second quarter, but the Lady Goats trailed at halftime 24-13.
The Lady Goats continued to fight in the third quarter and cut the lead to seven points heading into the fourth quarter. But Cascade would halt the comeback attempt in the fourth quarter and cruised to the win.
Neither team had a great night shooting, with the Lady Goats shooting 22.6 percent from the field while the Kodiaks were mildly better, shooting 27 percent from the field. Chelan turned the ball over 23 times as the Kodiaks had 10 steals.
The only player in double digits for the Lady Goats was Emma Stockholm with 14 points. Drew Morris led the way with 11 rebounds.

The Lady Goats rebounded from the loss on Tuesday. Chelan traveled to the Town Toyota Center in Wenatchee on Wednesday to take on Cle Elum, earning a 38-30 win.
Chelan jumped on Cle Elum early and gained a 13-7 lead after the first quarter. Chelan continued to play well in the second to take a 24-17 lead at halftime.
The second half was a defensive battle, with neither team scoring more than eight points in the third or fourth quarters. Cle Elum outscored Chelan 7-6 in the third quarter to cut the lead to six points. But the Goats were able to play well in the fourth quarter to earn the eight-point win.
The big stat from this game was turnovers. Cle Elum turned the ball over 29 times due to Chelan's 15 steals. Chelan had 24 turnovers. Cle Elum out-rebounded the Goats 47-30, but Chelan made 15 shots from the field while the Warriors made 12 shots.
Chelan's Emma Stockholm had 17 points to lead the Goats. Teammate Megan Robinson recorded 14 points including converting three of six three point shots.

The Lady Goats extended its win streak to two games with a road win last Friday, Dec. 20, against Tonasket 58-31.
The game was close in the first half. Chelan ended the first quarter with a 12-10 lead. But the Tigers outscored the Goats 11-10 in the second quarter to cut Chelan's lead to one at halftime.
Chelan came out in the second half and took control of the game. The Lady Goats scored 18 points while playing stellar defense, allowing the Lady Tigers to score four points in the third quarter to take a big lead after three. It was more of the same in the fourth quarter as the Goat defense gave up six points while the offense put up 18 points in the fourth quarter to cruise to the win.
The defense was what won the game for Chelan. The Lady Goats had 19 steals and forced 34 Tonasket turnovers. Chelan held the Tigers to a 27.3 percent field goal percentage.
The star of the game was Chelan's Emma Stockholm. She recorded a double-double with 27 points and 11 rebounds. She also had five blocks and five steals.

Chelan will have a week off before the Chelan Goats Holiday Hoop Tournament on Dec. 27 and 28. The Lady Goats will take on Life Christian at 6 p.m. The Chelan boys will take on Adna at 7:30 p.m. Both games are on Friday, with the result of the game determining when each team will play on Saturday. Kiona-Benton boys and girls are in the tournament as well as the Lakeside girls basketball team.
