Entiat earns home win

Entiat got back on the winning track last week with two wins, snapping a two-game losing streak.
The Tigers took on Wilson Creek last Tuesday, Jan. 21, at home and earned a 62-23 win.
"In the first contest versus Wilson Creek, we jumped off to a good first quarter lead 21-4 and were able to maintain the advantage the rest of the game," Entiat Coach Miles Caples said.
The Tigers had contributions come from a lot of different players, with four Tigers scoring in double-figures. Entiat's Keith Larsen led the team with 17. Teammate Truong Tran added 13 along with Edwin Medina chipping in 12 points. Trang Tran was the other Tiger in double-figures with 10.
The Tigers had another home game last Friday, Jan. 24, against Columbia Basin Secondary, and came away with a 52-42 win.
"It was a close game the first half and then we were able to take advantage of our defensive pressure in the third quarter and extend the lead," Caples said.
Entiat was led by Truong Tran with 22 points. Brother Trang Tran added 15 points along with Keith Larsen contributing 11.
Entiat is 8-7 this season and is fighting for the top spot in the Central Washington B-Athletics North Division. Liberty Bell and Pateros are also battling for the division lead. Pateros is 8-4 this season while the Lions are 9-5.
The Tigers have two of its five remaining games this week. Entiat took on the Pateros Billygoats this past Tuesday, Jan. 28. Friday, Jan. 31, the Tigers will take on the Waterville Shockers at home.
