Entiat girls fall in Districts
Matt Baide
Staff Writer

The Entiat Lady Tigers were one of the favorites to make it to the Regional basketball tournament. But, in a stunning upset, the Tigers fell short of Regionals, losing to the Waterville Shockers 40-36, last Thursday, Feb. 20.
Entiat started off the District tournament by taking on Easton last Tuesday, Feb. 18, at Bridgeport High School, earning a 78-16 win.
Entiat took the lead and never looked back, earning a big win against Easton.
"(It was a) good opening game of Districts and we were able to let everyone play," Entiat Coach Bill Edwardson said.

The win set up a loser-out game for the Lady Tigers with the Waterville Shockers.
"We came out very slow and Waterville took advantage to take an 11-point lead at the end of the first quarter and we made some runs but could never take the lead," Edwardson said. "Got as close to two a few times but couldn't get over the hump. We had beaten them the two previous games but they were both hard-fought victories."

Entiat finishes the season with a 19-3 record. Entiat will send off five seniors.
"A tough way to end our season as we ended with a record of 19-3," Edwardson said. "I would also like to thank the seniors for their efforts through the years: Brittony Lamb, Monika Rock, Alexis Swearingen, Yumiko Sanford and Julianna Edwardson."
