Blue skies and climbing temperatures greeted the 35 ladies who golfed "Mystery Nine." Nine holes were drawn after we set off to golf so the luck of the draw had something to do with winning on this particular day. However, there must have been some great golfing as witnessed by the six chip-ins which were holed by Kell Bowers, Gail Peterson, Rhonda Vaglio, Kathy Cary, Patty Myers, and Jane Storms. We also had four birdie grils of the day with Kelli Bowers scoring two and April Talley, Candace Farnsworth, and Gail Peterson getting one each.
Div. 1 1st place winner was April Talley; 2nd was Linda Reister; and there was a two-way tie for 3rd between Janet Foyle and Kelli Bowers. Div. 2 1st went to Janet Kophs; 2nd was Sharron Ward; and there was a three-way tie for 3rd with Molly Hoots, Toni Berry, and Gail Bender saring those honors. Div. 3 1st place winner was Katjy Cary followed by Carolyn Tobey in 2nd.
Play July 17 will be Medal Play (low net by division and low net and gross scores of the field). Please remember that the July and August tee time is 8 a.m. with a 7:30 a.m. check-in. The Member-Guest tournament will take place July 24 with a full field. Also please remember that the nine-hole group meets at 2:45 p.m. every Tuesday for the 3p.m. tee off. They are having a lot of fun and nine holes is just right for those who are busy or who are not able to play 18 holes of golf.
Pictured below, submitted by the Ladies Golf Club, is the shot of the day. What appears to be an egg sitting in a nest is actually a golf ball hit there by Micki Morris on her 2nd shot on #10. Our famous rock can get in one's way but most go over it, around it, or by it. Micki went on top of it! Golf Pro Jim Oscarson commented that he would have climbed onto the rock to hit the ball off the rock. Micki chose the wiser course, stayed on the ground, and took un-un-playable lie.
