Harris, Hill host hoops clinic
Chelan Native Joe Harris poses for a photo with NBA legend Grant Hill. Harris helped host a basketball clinic this past Sunday for the Special Olympics Texas alongside Hill and nine other college basketball players from across the country who make up the Allstate NABC Good Works Team, a team comprised of 10 college basketball players who stand out for their commitment to community service and volunteerism.

Manson falls to Cashmere
The Manson Trojans soccer team took on the Cashmere Bulldogs on the road last Saturday, April 5. Cashmere picked up a 4-1 win.
Manson started off the game on the right foot, as Michael Vasquez passed the ball to Miguel Leyva, who broke through the Cashmere defense and scored, to put Manson up 1-0. Cashmere was able to tie the game towards the end of the first half on a corner kick to even the game 1-1 at halftime.

Chelan soccer loses to Brewster
Chelan soccer looked as if it was going to pick up a big win at Brewster last Tuesday, April 1, but the Bears clawed back in the second half to earn a 2-1 win.
The Goats started the game off well, as freshman Cristian Barajas scored in the third minute as a defensive breakdown by Brewster left Barajas alone with the Brewster goalie, slipping the shot past the keeper and into the net for a 1-0 lead.

Lady Tigers take first at invite
Entiat and Manson high school athletes competed at the Bridgeport Invitational last Tuesday, March 25.
Impressive results included a Lady Tigers' first-place team medal, with score of 108 among the seven other competing teams. Coming in second and third was Wilbur-Creston (77) and Waterville (74), respectively. With just two points behind Waterville, the Manson Lady Trojans took fourth-place honors at the invite, with a team score of 72.

Chelan Softball earns first win
The Chelan softball team earned its first win of the season last Saturday, March 29, against the Liberty Bell Lady Lions.
The team picked up a 17-1 win. Chelan's Aleea Ferguson pitched great for the Lady Goats, giving up one earned run on six hits and striking out five batters. Chelan coach Jeff Barker also commented on the great job Chelan's Katie Gleasman did behind the plate catching.

Manson soccer falls to Tonasket
The Manson Trojan soccer team had two games this past week.
Last Tuesday, March 25, the Trojans took on the Liberty Bell Lions at Manson. The result of the game was unreported.
Last Thursday, March 27, the Trojans travelled to Tonasket. The Tigers won 5-0.
Manson currently sits at 1-2 on the season. Manson will take on Cashmere on the road next Saturday, April 5.

Entiat tennis falls to Liberty Bell
Entiat took on Liberty Bell last Tuesday, March 25 at home. Both the Tiger boys and girls teams lost to Liberty Bell, losing the overall matches 7-3.
For the boys, Liberty Bell won 4-1. The lone match won by Entiat was the No. 1 doubles team of Kyle Montgomery and Alberto Quezada, defeating Liberty Bell's Daniel Sonnickson and Jesse Schultz, 6-2, 6-4. Liberty Bell took the other four matches. Entiat's Ben Southard lost a close match to Liberty Bell's Stony Hulon, 8-6.

Chelan soccer crushes Omak,falls to Eastmont
The Chelan Goats faced a tough test last Tuesday, March 25, taking on the 4A Eastmont Wildcats at Mountain Goat Field, with the Wildcats prevailing with a 2-0 win.
Eastmont got on the board in the 14th minute of the game to go ahead 1-0. The Wildcats added another goal in the second half in the 73rd minute of the game. Eastmont had a total of 17 shots while the Goats had 19 shots, with none finding the back of the net.

Manson drops games three games last week
The Manson Trojans baseball team lost three games last week, sending the Trojans to 0-6 on the season.
Last Wednesday, March 26, the Trojans hosted the Lake Roosevelt Raiders. Manson lost the game, 20-9. Manson's Bo Charlton was the starting pitcher and threw three innings, with Chase Brooks, Zach Serafini and Mikey Pittman coming on to pitch in relief. Pittman recorded three hits, and other Trojans recording hits included Jared LaMar, Michael Sanchez, Bo Charlton, Chayse Brooks and Mathew Fitzpatrick.

Chelan Golf competes against Wenatchee JV
The Chelan golf team faced off against the Wenatchee JV team at Three Lakes Golf Course in a non-league match last Thurday, March 27.
For the boys, Chelan's Eli Christenson shot an 85 and right behind him was Elijah Larson with an 89. For the girls, Chelan's Quinn Cooper shot a 97 while teammate Casey Jackson shot a 100.

Chelan tennis earns wins over Quincy, Omak
Chelan tennis added another win to its belt this last Tuesday, March 25 at home against the Quincy Jacks.
The Chelan girls swept Quincy. Chelan's Megan Robinson, Shelby Dietrich and Allie Schwantes all won their singles matches. In doubles, Chelan's Sarah Kunkel and Abby Phelps along with Kaylie Kronbauer and Vanessa Miller each earned wins.

Chelan hosts only track meet
Chelan High School hosted its only home track meet this last Tuesday, March 25. With four teams competing, the events were full of competitors from Chelan, Omak, Quincy and Tonasket.
There were no team scores provided by press time. The top four finishing athletes from Chelan are as follows.

Ladies Tee Time golf begins
The Ladies Division of the Lake Chelan Golf Club begins its official 2014 season this Thursday, March 27 with a tee-off time of 9:30 a.m.
Remember the drill from last year? Be there and signed in at least a half hour before tee-off. Judy Johnson, our Tourney chair, will have a surprise competition for us.

Frank Kneisley had a 638 series which gave him a 140 pins over average series and a 600 series award. He also bowled a 242 game which gave him a 75 pins over game award and a 225 game award. Gordon Philips bowled a 548 series so he gets a 500 series award. Nice bowling!

Entiat tennis begins season
The Entiat Tennis team began it's season on the road last Monday, March 17 against the Omak Pioneers, losing the match 9-1.
The lone win for the Tigers was in boys doubles, with Entiat's Orfil Olmos and Wade Filbeck defeating Omak's Tyrell Friedlander and Craig Conway 8-3. Omak was able to win the other nine matches, with the closest match for an Entiat player was boys singles player Kyle Montgomery losing a close 8-6 match to Omak's Devyn Grillo.
