A working group has been formed to establish a Farmers Market in Pateros. With support from the Pateros Chamber and a site approved by the City of Pateros. The proposed market times is Friday afternoon from 2-6 p.m. with guaranteed access during festival weekends. The site is highly visible from the highway with ample space both forvendors and parking. Win a trip to Bavaria!
Tickets are now available at the Lake Chelan Mirror, 315 E. Woodin Ave., for the Leavenworth Rotary Club's Bavarian Raffle, for a dream vacation to Bavaria. The Raffle includes round trip air fare for two from Seattle to Munich and $3,500 in spending money. You can take the trip any time you wish. Raffle tickets are $10 each but only 2,500 tickets will be sold. Buckner Homestead Heritage Foundation membership drive
The 2014 membership drive for the Buckner Homestead Heritage Foundation is now in progress. The foundation promotes the care and preservation of the Buckner homestead, orchard, and community atmosphere in perpetuity. Memberships are one form of contributing funds to support their work at the Homestead located in Stehekin. Checks payable to the Buckner Homestead Heritage Foundation, can be mailed to PO Box 184, Manson, WA 98831. Free tax help
AARP, partners with the IRS, to offer Volunteer Income Tax Assistance. Free tax help is available to low and moderate income individuals and families by an IRS certified volunteer. This help is available a the Chelan Public Library, 216 N. Emerson, on Wednesdays, Noon-6 p.m. Due to unforeseen circumstances the Chelan site will close March 12. You need to bring, proof of childcare payments, state issued photo ID, other IRS forms as appropriate, last year's tax return (if available), bank account and routing number, direct deposit of applicable.
Friends of the NCW Fair announce their 16th Annual Crab Feed and Auction on Sat., March 8. Doors open at 5 p.m. and dinner is served at 6 p.m. Silent and live auctions will be held with funds raised to be used for capital improvement projects on the fairgrounds. Tickets are $40 per person and may be purchased by calling the fair office at 509-745-8480.
Health insurance enrollment events
Need health insurance? Columbia Valley Community Health is hosting a series of Saturday Health Care Enrollment Events for anyone who needs help enrolling into the Healthcare Exchange before the March 31 deadline. You do not need to be a CVCH patient. They will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, March 8: CVCH Chelan Clinic, 317 E. Johnson Ave. in Chelan; and Saturday, March 15, 22 and 29: CVCH Wenatchee Clinic, 600 Orondo Ave, in Wenatchee; and available on a walk-in basis. Bring: Identification Documentation (ID Card, Green Card, Naturalization Certificate or U.S. Passport), 2012 or 2013 Tax Return, Social Security Cards for everyone applying, Dates of Birth for everyone included on 2012 or 2013 taxes. Wellness Group Cancer Support Group

St. Patrick's Day parade
Put on your green and head to Downtown Chelan to participate in the Wayne Kelly Memorial Top Dog Parade on Saturday, March 15. The parade starts at noon and is presented by the Lake Chelan Lions Club. Bring your children, dogs, etc. and wear green. Dress up your dog or dogs and try your hand at bringing home the "Top Dog" Award! The parade starts at 12 Noon, line up in parking lot behind Wells Fargo Bank at 11:30 a.m. Judging is done before the parade starts. Strategic planning workshops for nonprofits
The Community Foundation of North Central Washington in partnership with the Icicle Fund and Washington Nonprofits are hosting a nonprofit strategic planning workshop. Presenter Dave Coleman, with BoardTrek Nonprofit Consulting and former grant maker with M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust, will facilitate a four-hour interactive workshop that introduces strategic planning and gets organizations started on their own plans. There are two training opportunities: Tuesday, March 25, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Pybus Public Market or Wednesday, March 26, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Aero Methow Service Rescue.
