Celebrate Recovery meetings
Lake Chelan Celebrate Recovery Meets every Thursday at Little Stone Church, 2133 West Woodin Avenue. Dinner is at 6 p.m., cost is $3. Group meeting at 6:30 p.m., followed by gender-specific small groups. Celebrate Recovery is a confidential, Biblically-based twelve step program for anyone struggling with addiction, co-dependency, gambling, relationships and other life issues. Contact: 509-860-8108.
Manson Edible Apple Contest
"A Taste of Manson" - plan something luscious to make with all our yummy local Manson apples. Bring your entry to the Manson Park Office on Pedoi St, Friday May 9, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Categories: apple pies and pastries, cookies and bars, cakes, and miscellaneous/desserts. Children under 12 encouraged to enter. Winners will be announced at the Pageant Friday evening at the High School Gym, with prizes for the winners. On Saturday, come by the Manson Park Office following the parade, and taste all the entries. They will be available by donation. If you need apples to make your scrumptious creation, please call Sarah Cushing 509-888-8184. Hunter Education Training
The next class begins on August 4, 2014. Sign up is at the Washington State Game Department's website. You must attend all classes and be there on Saturday for the range day and testing in order to receive your certificate. Contact Rick Hanson at 509-682-2421 for further details.
Story time at library
Story time at the Chelan Library, located at the corner of Emerson and Chelan, is every Wednesday at 11 a.m. Join them for fun, books, songs, finger plays, flannel boards and more. For information call the library at 682-5131.
Lions Club to meet
The Lions Club will have an evening meeting the last Thursday of each month (in May, May 29), 6 p.m. in the Apple Cup Cafe banquet room. All other Thursdays their meetings will be at noon at the Apple Cup Cafe.

Class of 1954 reunion
Manson High School Class of 1954 is reuniting on Saturday, May 10 at Arita Faubion Pittman's home at 845 Ivan Morse Road in Manson. Classmates and alums from the 1950's are invited to the open house from 2-5 p.m. Bring favorite snacks, beverages provided. For information 687-3147 or 687-9305.
Clark Kearney Kids' Day Fishing
Enjoy Mother's Day fishing with the young ones from 1-4 p.m., at the Lake Chelan Municipal Golf Course Pond. Five fish limit and prizes.
Wellness Group Cancer Support Group
The Women's Wellness Group, cancer support group, will meet at the Lake Chelan Community Hospital for lunch on Tuesday, May 13, at 11:45 a.m. Lunch is provided by the Lake Chelan Community Hospital.
Lake Chelan Watershed Planning Unit meeting
The next meeting of the Lake Chelan Watershed Planning Unit will be May 14, 9:30 a.m., at Campbell's in Chelan. There will be two primary discussion topics: 1. Development of the Detailed Implementation Plan. 2. Update on water rights processing and the coordinated cost reimbursement process. The Wenatchee SCORE Office is going to hold a series of "Lunch and Learn" meetings in May and June that will address the major aspects of starting and operating a business. The specific topics for the meetings are: Are you ready to start a business? - May 15. Developing a business plan - May 29. Obtaining Financing - June 12. Establishing a marketing plan - June 26. The meetings will be held in the SCORE office at 2 S. Chelan, Wenatchee, (basement level), from noon-1 p.m. A fee of $40 will be charged for the complete course or $15 for each course at the door. Chelan Valley Genealogical Society to meet
The May meeting of C.V.G.S. will be held at Chelan Public Library May 17, at 11 a.m. Guest Speaker, Nancy Culp, will share her expertise on how to write memoirs. If you have started already, please bring what you have written. There will also be a discussion and display of Military Records. Please bring any records, or military memorabilia, you care to share.
Lion's Club golf tournament
Lake Chelan Lion's Club Annual Golf Tournament will be held Saturday, May 17, at Bear Mountain Ranch Golf Course. Individuals or teams of four are welcome. Entry fee is $100 per person and includes 18 holes of golf, a golf cart, lunch and beverages. Golf with former Seahawks. Clothing and accessories will be given away on May 3 and 17, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Riverwalk Closet, located at Chelan Riverwalk Church on the corner of Emerson Street and Okanogan Avenue in Chelan. Bach Fest Fundraiser
Lake Chelan Bach Fest will be having a Fundraiser concert on Sunday, May 18, 2 p.m., at the home of Dr. and Kerry Travers, 130 Henderson Terrace, Chelan. The concert will feature Mary Jensen, flute, accompanied by Beth Jensen, piano. Tickets are $40 and includes refreshments and a wonderful afternoon of live music.
