Strawberry fundraiser
Young Life strawberry fundraiser. The Leavenworth Young Life group is selling strawberries (previously a Leavenworth Rotary Club fundraiser) to send kids to camp. Same great Washington fresh berries, 15 pound bucket for only $35. Order forms available at the Lake Chelan Mirror, 315 E. The Pateros Friday Farmers Market will be held each Friday afternoon from 3-7 p.m. beginning on Monday 30, at the Main Mall in Pateros. Learn to oil paint
On Friday, June 6, 1- p.m. in Riverwalk Park learn to oil paint landscapes En Plein Air (out of doors), on location. This session involves learning to paint quickly, capturing a scene and finishing it, on a smaller scale. Supplies to bring: oil paints, brushes, palette knife, palette to mix paint on turpentine or thinner, 11" x 14" or smaller canvas or board, small sketch pad and pencil, easel. Cost $40. Guild Y Rummage Sale
Guild Y will be having a Rummage Sale on Friday, June 6, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday, June 7 from 9 a.m. -1 p.m. Quality kitchen ware, clothing, home decorations, linens and other items will be offered for sale at the Lake Chelan United Methodist church near the Post Office in downtown Chelan. Profits from the sale will be used to support the Lake Chelan Community Hospital.
Eagles garage sale
The Lake Chelan Eagles will be having a garage sale on Friday and Saturday, June 6 and 7, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., lower level at the club, located on Woodin Avenue in downtown Chelan. Pancake breakfast
Who can resist buttermilk and blueberry pancakes, baked ham, and scrambled eggs? Chelan Fire District 7 Volunteer Firefighters host their annual pancake breakfast on Saturday, June 7, 8-11 a.m., at Station 71, 232 E. Wapato Avenue in Chelan. Suggested minimum donation is $5 per person; however, please feel free to be generous as it comes back to the community through various programs that the firefighters support. Pose for pictures and take a ride with Sparky on the department's restored vintage fire truck. First edition souvenir Fire Department Pancake Breakfast T-Shirts will be available for purchase at First Friday on June 6 at the Fire Department booth and at the pancake breakfast.

SCORE meetings
The Wenatchee SCORE Office is going to hold a series of "Lunch and Learn" meetings in June that will address the major aspects of starting and operating a business. The specific topics for the meetings are: Obtaining Financing - June 12. Establishing a marketing plan - June 26. The meetings will be held in the SCORE office at 2 S. Chelan, Wenatchee, (basement level), from noon-1 p.m. A fee of $40 will be charged for the complete course or $15 for each course at the door. RSVP is required. The Apple Pie Jamboree 3-on-3 Basketball Tourney will be held in the Pateros Mall Parking Lot, on Saturday, July 19. Play begins at 8 a.m. Application and $70 due by July 14. DSHS mobile office in Chelan
DSHS will have a mobile office in Chelan on July 22, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Chelan Senior Center, located at 534 E. Trow Avenue in Chelan. Staff will take applications for cash and food programs, including: TANF and associated emergency assistance for eligible persons/families, such as those who have emergent needs; Aged, Blind, Disabled cash assistance for eligible individuals; SNAP assistance benefits or FAP assistance benefits. This includes ordering replacement cards; Electronic benefit card cash; Childcare subsidy program assistance; and Medicaid only for those 65 and over or disabled on Medicare, excluding long-term care.
