WENATCHEE — The Wenatchee AppleSox completed their fourth sweep of the 2024 season, defeating the Yakima Valley Pippins 10-8 in a dramatic comeback victory on Sunday night at Paul Thomas Sr. Stadium.

The AppleSox (26-13, 8-4 second half) overcame a late deficit for the second consecutive game, scoring four runs in both the third and seventh innings to secure the win. The Pippins (16-23, second half) held a 6-5 lead after six and a half innings before Wenatchee's offense ignited in the bottom of the seventh.

Jack Haferkamp, entering the game as a pinch hitter in the seventh inning, led the AppleSox with three RBIs. His two-run double with the bases loaded put Wenatchee ahead 7-6. Matthew Henning followed with a two-RBI single, finishing the game with three hits.

Carson Boesel (5-0) earned the win in his first appearance in a month, entering in the seventh inning to record the final out and pitching a scoreless eighth with two strikeouts. It marked Boesel's first outing since clinching the North Division first half title on June 30 against Bellingham.

The Pippins had rallied from a 5-0 deficit, scoring two runs in the sixth and four in the seventh before Wenatchee's late-game surge.

Wenatchee's offense was bolstered by 11 walks, approaching their season-high of 13. The team has now scored at least nine runs in three consecutive games and 17 times this season. The victory improved their home record to 15-6 and maintained their perfect 7-0 record on Sundays.

The AppleSox will continue their homestand with a three-game series against the Kamloops NorthPaws starting Tuesday.
