Chelan to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with Shamrock Shuffle and Top Dog Parade

CHELAN – Lake Chelan will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with the annual Lake Chelan Lions Club Shamrock Shuffle and St. Patty’s Top Dog Parade on Saturday, March 15 in Chelan.

The Shamrock Shuffle 5K Fun Run is the Lion’s Club annual fundraiser in support of diabetes education and provides scholarships to Camp Stix for young people with Type 1 diabetes.

Registration for the Shamrock Shuffle is from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the Riverwalk Park Shelter. Preregistration is available at lakechelanlions.org. Participants may walk, stroll or run the 5K.

Registration is $25 for adults (19 and older), $15 for youth ages 7-18 and free for kids six and under. Adults and youth racers will receive a kelly green beanie and a 2025 shamrock pin with registration. A beanie and pin may be purchased for $6 for kids six and under. 

Past participants may bring their beanie and get a 2025 pin.

The race will begin at 9:30 a.m. Participants will leave Riverwalk Park, cross the Old Bridge and take the Riverwalk trail to the boat launch, then up the hill towards the Chelan River Gorge.  

The halfway mark is at the end of the pavement at the Gorge Road. Participants will turn around there and take the same route back to the starting point. Supporters are: Lake Chelan Health Foundation, Erik Nelson/Edward Jones, Whaley’s General Store, Local Myth Pizza and Endless Orchards Cider. 

The 37th Wayne Kelly Memorial St. Patty’s Top Dog Parade will start at noon in downtown Chelan. 

“Dress up yourself, dogs, children, and cars in green and join in the fun,” the event page states. “You could take home the “TOP DOG” award.” 

The Lake Chelan Food Bank  will be collecting food and monetary donations at the parade.

Staging for the parade starts at 11:30 a.m. behind Wells Fargo Bank.
