Cross-country skiers from Plain Valley Nordic Team compete at Junior Nationals

MIDWAY, Utah - The 2025 Cross Country Skiing Junior Nationals kicked off Monday at the Soldier Hollow Nordic Center, with athletes from across the country gathering for what organizers describe as "an unforgettable week of racing."

Among the competitors are ten young skiers from the Plain Valley Nordic Team (PVNT), representing communities throughout Chelan County, including Entiat, Wenatchee, Leavenworth, and Plain.

The competition began Monday with the Classical Interval Start race, the first of four scheduled events. The remaining competition schedule includes the Freestyle Sprint on March 12, Freestyle Skate (Mass Start) on March 14, and Relay Starts on March 15.

The PVNT contingent consists of Silas D'Atre, Avery Houghton, Quinten Koch, Addie Loewen, Caroline Menna, Peter Norby, Annika Peterson, Olaf Saugen, Jedidiah Stay, and Micah Wilder.

Team officials expressed pride in the athletes' achievements in qualifying for the prestigious national event, noting they are "so proud of their dedication and hard work."

Spectators and supporters can follow the competition through live results available online at the official race tracking website. A detailed race schedule has also been published online, providing specific start times and course information for each event.
