Johnathan Peter (Pete) Shaw

Johnathan Peter (Pete) Shaw was born June 17, 1947 in Omak, Washington to Lloyd and Patricia Shaw, and died March 19, 2025 in Kent, Washington. 

As with most veterans in the post WW-II economy, The family moved about from Omak, to Spokane, to Entiat and finally to Manson in the winter of 1950-1951.

Pete attended Manson school and entered the Navy upon graduation.  He served 20 year’s attaining the rank of Chief Petty Officer.  He was trained in and served as an aviation mechanic servicing both piston and jet powered Naval aircraft.  Pete cross-rated to Master-at-arms working in drug enforcement.

After retiring from the Navy, Pete went to work at Boeing manufacturing various commercial aircraft culminating with the 747.  He was medically retired from Boeing due to complications from Guillian-Barre, a neurological disorder he suffered while in the Navy.

Pete died at home after a year-long battle with cancer.

He is survived by a wife, a son, 3 daughters and a step-daughter, 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are his brother Bill, of Poway, CA and his sister, Lori of Las Vegas. NV.
