MANSON — The historic Manson Grange Hall, a fixture in the community since 1945, has completed the initial phase of a comprehensive renovation project aimed at preserving its heritage while modernizing its facilities.

The renovation, which began in early 2025, focuses on maintaining the building's historic character while implementing necessary updates to improve safety, accessibility and overall functionality, according to Grange officials.

"The Manson Grange Hall has always been more than just a building; it's a symbol of our shared history and community spirit," said Terrie Carleton, Volunteer of the Manson Grange Renovation Committee. "This renovation ensures that we can continue hosting events, meetings, and celebrations in a space that reflects the pride we have in our town."

The first phase of renovations includes modernized kitchen and restroom facilities, improved event spaces, enhanced accessibility features such as ramps and railings that comply with Americans with Disabilities Act standards, and energy-efficient upgrades to lighting and HVAC systems. Interior improvements include fresh paint, resurfaced wood flooring and new lighting fixtures.

Funding for the project has come from multiple sources, including a $193,000 State Legislature Grant, $42,000 in contributions from members and community residents, a $10,000 anonymous matching fund donation, $6,000 from the Community Foundation of North Central Washington Regional Impact Grant, and $2,000 from the Lake Chelan Community Services Council.

The Grange will showcase the renovated space during an open house scheduled for May, featuring tours, live music and refreshments. The event will also provide information about ongoing programs offered by the organization.
