Manson open house Oct. 22 looks at safer walking, biking routes to school

MANSON — Chelan County Public Works will hold a community open house at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, at the Manson Grange to present its Safe Routes to School study. Walking audits will begin at 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

On the walks, a consultant will lead participants along Totem Pole Road and gather their ideas about priority routes to school and possible safety improvements.

The study looks at how to connect downtown Manson with its schools. The county said it will use the results to design a walking and bicycling network with less traffic stress and more accessible routes.

A short online survey is open through mid-October at app.maptionnaire.com/q/mansonsrts. A Spanish interpreter will be available at the open house.
