CHELAN - Last Thursday, the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) announced they will be holding two open houses to discuss and answer questions on the three highway projects that will be starting this spring.
The first open house was held yesterday (March 28) at Chelan City Hall. The second open house is on Wednesday, March 29, at the Manson Parks and Recreation meeting room from 4 to 6 p.m.
• SR 150 and No See-Um Road Intersection Improvement
Construction is set to begin in April, with the estimated project completion in 2018 (although the City of Chelan expects they can get the project done in the original time frame of September).
• SR 150 Manson to Chelan paving
Paving is set to begin April 10 and estimated to be completed in July.
• SR 971 Slope Stabilization
This project is to fix the rockslide that occurred on South Lake Shore Drive on March 8. Mitigation work is already in the process and construction work on the slope is expected to start in the late spring.
Since this is a drop-in open house, there is no presentation given. Residents can visit anytime within the given time frame to ask questions.
