WENATCHEE – The Wenatchee Wild have announced a trade with the Medicine Hat Tigers of the Western Hockey League (WHL), acquiring 2005-born goaltender Zach Zahara from the Tigers in exchange for an eighth-round selection in the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft and a fourth-round pick in the 2027 Prospects Draft.
A native of Rocky View, Alberta, Zahara is in his second full season of WHL competition, after posting 16 wins for the Tigers a year ago with a 3.15 goals-against average and an .893 save percentage. He also appeared in two regular-season contests for Medicine Hat during the 2021-22 WHL season, and one 2022-23 postseason contest for the club. An eighth-round selection in the 2021 WHL Draft, he starred for the South Alberta Hockey Academy in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) prior to coming to the WHL, posting 23 wins over two seasons for the school’s Under-18 squad.
The Wenatchee Wild proudly welcome Zach Zahara to the Wild family.
