Lake Chelan Hospital completes memorial brick installation

CHELAN—Lake Chelan Health Hospital has completed the installation of its latest batch of memorial bricks, representing the final phase of Hospital Guild Y's successful fundraising project.

The Guild, a volunteer organization that has supported the local hospital since 1965, recently placed 69 laser-etched memorial bricks from its last sale in the patio adjacent to the Orchards Cafe. This installation concludes the 2022 and 2023 Etched Brick Sales project, which has proven to be the group's most effective fundraiser.

Proceeds from the brick sales funded outdoor picnic tables with umbrellas for the patio, improving the hospital's outdoor areas for patients, visitors, and staff.

At a recent meeting, Guild Y introduced new leadership. Sharon Lukacs and Carrol Palmbush were appointed co-presidents, with Joey Bruno taking on the role of vice-president. Susan Fisher and Susan McKinnon will continue as treasurer and secretary, respectively.

The guild expressed appreciation for the community's support, noting contributions from local residents, second-home owners, and visitors to the Lake Chelan Valley.

Guild Y members are now focusing on their next volunteer effort: the upcoming Sip & Chip golf tournament in September, continuing their long-standing tradition of organizing fundraising events for the hospital.

The memorial brick project underscores Hospital Guild Y's ongoing dedication to supporting Lake Chelan Health Hospital, an essential healthcare facility for the region.
