Woman arrested for alleged theft from Chelan Walmart

CHELAN — A 31-year-old woman was arrested on felony theft charges after allegedly stealing over 260 items from a Walmart in Chelan.

Brittany Roberts of Wenatchee was apprehended on July 1 after Chelan County Sheriff's deputies responded to a theft call at approximately 7:48 p.m., according to Sheriff Mike Morrison.

Store personnel reported that a woman had pushed a shopping cart full of unpaid merchandise out of the store. Deputies located two women and a man sorting through a Walmart cart near the Chelan Goats Field. Roberts, who matched the description provided, immediately confessed to the theft upon contact with law enforcement.

The stolen items were valued at well over $750, elevating the offense to a Class C felony under Washington state law. Roberts was subsequently booked on felony theft charges.

Chelan County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the incident as part of their commitment to ensuring community safety and security.
